Yes. Keep aspect ratio is enabled by default so the image does not look stretched.
Resizing changes pixel dimensions, not physical print dimensions. An image reduced from 4000 x 3000 to 2000 x 1500 contains one quarter as many pixels and will normally require much less storage.
Keep aspect ratio enabled to avoid stretching. The 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% presets calculate both dimensions from the original image, while manual width or height entry gives precise control.
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF files up to 20 MB are accepted. The source and requested output must each remain below 40 million pixels. Export is available as JPG, PNG or WebP.
GIF animation is not retained. JPG output replaces transparency with white. PNG preserves transparent pixels, while WebP can preserve them with a smaller file in many browsers.
Reducing dimensions can remove detail cleanly and is useful for websites, email and social media. Enlarging an image creates extra pixels by interpolation; it cannot recover detail that was absent in the source.
For a sharp result, resize from the largest available original and avoid repeated resize-export cycles. Keep one untouched master file for future versions.
Use the exact dimensions required by the destination when they are known. For general web use, reducing a camera image to around 1600 to 2400 pixels on its longest side often gives a practical balance.
If a platform crops images automatically, resize first and then use the cropper with the platform's aspect ratio rather than forcing unrelated width and height values.
