How the crop coordinates work
X measures the horizontal starting point from the left edge and Y measures the vertical starting point from the top. Width and height define the area retained in the exported image.
Values are constrained to the original boundaries, so the crop cannot extend outside the source. The visual overlay shows the selected region before processing.
Aspect-ratio presets
Square creates a 1:1 crop. The 16:9 and 9:16 presets suit landscape and vertical video layouts, 4:5 is useful for portrait posts, and 3:2 matches a common photography ratio.
Each preset centers the largest possible crop with that ratio. Adjust X and Y afterward when the important subject is not centered.

Formats, transparency and limits
The cropper accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF input up to 20 MB and 40 million pixels. Output can be JPG, PNG or WebP.
JPG fills transparent areas with white. PNG and WebP preserve transparency. Animated GIF input becomes a still image because the selected region is rendered through browser canvas.
Crop without losing useful detail
Start from the original high-resolution file and choose the composition before resizing. Cropping a small thumbnail and enlarging it later produces soft results.
Keep space around faces, text and logos when the destination may apply another automatic crop. Export once and retain the original for future ratios.
